Smooth purchase and useful content

I decided to learn some new skills for work, so I bought the 'ChatGPT and Generative AI' course. The ordering process was really straightforward; I just clicked on the sale link and it applied the discount automatically at checkout. Didn't have to fuss with any coupon codes. Access to the course was instant, which was great. The videos loaded quickly on my laptop, and I even downloaded some lectures for offline viewing on my tablet, which was super convenient during my commute. The instructor broke down complex topics into digestible chunks, and the examples were practical. I particularly liked the prompt engineering sections. I had a quick question about one of the exercises, and the instructor's assistant replied within a day. Overall, a positive experience and the course has already helped me at work.

Always reliable for tech courses

This isn't my first time buying from Udemy. I've grabbed a few courses over the past year, like the AWS certification and a JavaScript one before this recent purchase of a Docker course. They're consistently good. The content is current, and instructors usually explain things well. The sales are frequent, so I just wait for a good deal. Never had issues with access or playback, which keeps me coming back.

Decent value, but search could be better

I got the 'React - The Complete Guide' course during a flash sale. The content itself is thorough, and the instructor clearly knows their stuff. For the price I paid, it's definitely good value. However, finding the right course initially can be a bit of a hunt; the search results aren't always perfectly relevant, and it takes some digging to filter through similar titles. Once I found it though, the learning experience was solid. Support answers questions fairly quickly if you post them in the course Q&A.

Thinking of getting a course but worried it might not be for me. What's the deal with refunds if I don't like it?

N Nancy Gomez 1 week ago
They have a 30-day refund policy, no questions asked, as long as you haven't watched like all of it. I've used it once and it was pretty straightforward.

Yeah, 30 days is the standard. Just don't binge the whole thing then try to refund, that's not cool.

Hey, wondering how often they run those big sales for like 10-15 bucks a course? Trying to pick up a few but don't want to overpay if a sale is coming soon.

I Ian W. 1 week ago
They seem to have them pretty frequently, especially around holidays like Black Friday or New Year's. I usually wait for those.

Yeah, I feel like every few weeks there's a flash sale. If you add stuff to your cart or wishlist, they'll often email you when it drops in price.

How does Udemy compare to something like Coursera? Are the certificates worth anything on LinkedIn?

R Richard Flores 1 week ago
Udemy is more about practical skills and individual courses. Coursera often has university partnerships and 'specializations' that feel more academic. Both certs can go on LinkedIn, but Coursera's might carry a bit more weight for some employers due to the uni names.

I'd say Udemy is great for getting hands-on with a specific tool or language. Coursera tends to be a bit more structured, sometimes with deadlines and peer reviews. Both can help your resume, just different vibes.

So if I buy a course, do I get to keep it forever or is it like a subscription model where it expires?

M Mark Lopez 2 weeks ago
It's lifetime access! Once you buy it, it's yours. Only exception is if they remove the course for some reason, but that's rare.

Lifetime access to content, always. It's one of the best things about Udemy compared to some others.

Can you actually download the course videos to watch offline? My internet isn't always reliable.

J Josh Sanchez 3 weeks ago
Yep, you can download them through the mobile app. Not sure about desktop though, I mostly use my tablet for courses.

I've downloaded a bunch to my phone for commutes. Super handy feature. Just remember it's through the app.
